It has recently held in London at Christie’s the sale of “In my fashion, the Suzy Menkes collection”, which included 95 items, Suzy Menkes’ clothes and accessories, made by the most renowned yesterday and today fashion houses as Ossie Clark, Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Christian Lacroix, Versace, Missoni, Yves Saint Laurent, Van Cleef & Arpels, Christian Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Marni, Emilio Pucci, Jean Muir, Janice Wainwright, Bill Gibb, Ossie Clark and Celia Birtwell. The auction sale included also a talk featuring Suzy Menkes, Jasper Conran along with two creatives from the new generation of fashion designers appreciated by the celebrated journalist of Herald Tribune, Erdem and Mary Katrantzou. Here Suzy focused on the emotional value of her garments, reminding of the necklace she wore in this circumstance which talked about a forty years old African woman who has started working doing that. Si è recentemente tenuta a Londra da Christie’s la vendita di “In my fashion, the Suzy Menkes collection” che ha incluso 95 capi, abiti e accessori di Suzy Menkes, realizzati dalle più rinomate case di moda di ieri e oggi quali Ossie Clark, Hermès, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Christian Lacroix, Versace, Missoni, Yves Saint Laurent, Van Cleef & Arpels, Christian Dior, Salvatore Ferragamo, Burberry, Marni, Emilio Pucci, Jean Muir, Janice Wainwright, Bill Gibb, Ossie Clark e Celia Birtwell. La vendita all’ asta ha incluso anche un talk con Suzy Menkes, Jasper Conran unitamente a due creativi della nuova generazione di fashion designers apprezzati dalla celebre giornalista dell’ Herald Tribune, Erdem and Mary Katrantzou. Ivi Suzy si è soffermata sul valore emozionale dei suoi abiti, ricordando la collana da lei indossata in quell’ occasione che parlava di una quarantenne Africana la quale aveva iniziato a lavorare facendo ciò. It has opened the exhibition “Diana Vreeland after Diana Vreeland” in Venice at the Fortuny Museum, curated by Maria Luisa Frisa and Judith Clark, telling with fashion – exclusive creations of couturiers as Cristobal Balenciaga, Elsa Schiaparelli and Mariano Fortuny, Jean Cocteau -, magazines, books, catalogues and artworks about the legendary Diana Vreeland who changed the way of thinking, seeing  and talking about fashion. A smashing event celebrated with a cocktail, organized by Francesca Bortolotto Possati, President of Bauer’s, at Palazzo Moncenigo where I was pleased of seeing friends as Gabriele Monti featuring as panelist as well as Mario Lupano and many other celebrated experts in the international meeting “The discipline of fashion between museum and fashion curating” which will be held on 10th March 2012 in Venice at Ca’ Badoer from 9 am to 7 pm. A not to be missed happening to think about the museum and the museology and culture of fashion.

LA INAUGURAZIONE DELLA MOSTRA “DIANA VREELAND AFTER DIANA VREELAND” AL MUSEO FORTUNY DI VENEZIA

È stata recentemente inaugurata la mostra “Diana Vreeland after Diana Vreeland” a Venezia presso il Museo Fortuny, curate da Maria Luisa Frisa e Judith Clark che racconta con la moda – creazioni esclusive di couturier quali Cristobal Balenciaga, Elsa Schiaparelli e Mariano Fortuny, Jean Cocteau -, riviste, libri e opere d’ arte sulla leggendaria Diana Vreeland che ha cambiato il modo di pensare, vedere e parlare di moda. Un formidabile evento celebrato con un cocktail, organizzato da Francesca Bortolotto Possati, Presidente del Bauer’s, a Palazzo Moncenigo in cui sono stata lieta di vedere amici come Gabriele Monti, protagonista nelle vesti di relatore come anche Mario Lupano e molti altri celebri esperti del contegno internazionale“La ‘discuiplina della moda tra museo e fashion curating” che si tiene oggi a Venezia presso Ca’ Badoer dalle 9:00 alle ore 19:00. Un evento imperdibile per riflettere sulla museologia e cultura della moda.

The latest edition of Tribeca Film Festival which will be held in New York from 21st April to May 2nd 2010 will host works made by eleven celebrated contemporary artists – as Yoko Ono, Stephen Posen, Maira Kalman, Stephen Hannock, Vik Muniz, Clifford Ross, Ghada Amer and Reza Farkhondeh, Maurizio Galimberti, Spencer Platt, Valerie Hegarty and Sheila Berger – contributing pieces to the TFF 2010 Artists Awards Program, sponsored by Chanel. The works – consisting of paintings, photographs, prints and sculptures – will be presented to the winning filmmakers in their respective categories and  also  exhibited to the public from 21st to 28th April 2010 at CHANEL New York boutique in Soho, 134 Spring Street, before their presentation at the Tribeca Film Festival Artists Awards Program Ceremony which will be held on 29th April 2010.
