An avant-garde glampire features in the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection of Sylvio Giardina, inspired by the celebrated movie “The Hunger” by Tony Scott and its dark sensuality (evoked by the movie’s soundtrack, as the opera “Lakme” by Leo Delibes), successfully follows the search of a new silhouette, a leitmotiv of his work. Sylvio reinterprets lines from Forties and Fifties, that are emphasized by a combinations of materials as wool, neoprene, tweed, rubber, mesh and shades of black, white and grey.

Una avveniristica vampira glam é protagonista della collezione autunno/inverno 2013-2014 di Sylvio Giardina che si inspira al celebre film “Miriam si sveglia a mezzanotte” di Tony Scott e alla sua cupa sensualità (evocata dalla colonna sonora del film, come l’ opera “Lakme” di Leo Delibes) che felicemente prosegue la ricerca di una nuova silhouette, un leitmotiv della sua opera. Sylvio reinterpreta le linee degli anni Quaranta e Cinquanta che sono enfatizzate da una combinazione di materiali quali lana, neoprene, tweed, vinile, rete e nuances di nero, bianco e grigio.

“Mala”(Nonesuch Records), is the new album of the brilliant song-writer Devendra Banhart, which will be released on 12th March 2012, available in streaming, he produced in his Los Angeles home studio along with his guitarist Noah Georgeson. The album of whose Devendra made also the cover ( being a renowned visual artist) is inspired by his girlfriend the Serbian designer Ana Kras – as “mala” is the nick name he uses calling her with whom he featured in the Fall/Winter 2012 lookbook by the Parisian brand The Kooples – as well as the evocative sound of the word “mala” and embodies Dadaist suggestions, strength and innocence, angry and pureness a leitmotiv of that “new weird America”, that contemporary psychedelic folk featuring in bands as Cocorosie, Anthony & the Johnson( who starred along with Devendra in the awesome documentary film “The eternal children” by David Kleijwegt) and include a track “Fuer Hildegard Von Bingen”(, which is a surreal portrait of the Catholic saint from 12th century, composer, author who escapes from a monastery and decides to become a VJ and spread her word). A not to be missed fetish to enjoy a bright contemporary artist.

“Mala”(Nonesuch Records), è il nuovo album del brillante cantautore Devendra Banhart che sarà pubblicato il 12 marzo 2012, disponibile in streaming che ha prodotto a Los Angeles nello studio di casa insieme al chitarrista Noah Georgeson. L’ album di cui Devendra ha realizzato anche la copertina(essendo un rinomato artista) si ispira alla sua ragazza, la designer serba Ana Kras – in quanto “mala” è il nomignolo con cui è solito chiamarla con la quale è apparso nel look-book autunno/inverno del 2012 del brand parigino The Kooples - come anche al suono evocativo della parola “mala” e racchiude suggestioni dadaiste, forza e innocenza, rabbia e purezza, un leitmotiv di quella “new weird America”, quel folk psichedelico contemporaneo che è protagonista di band quali Cocorosie, Anthony & the Johnson(protagonisti con Devendra della fantastica pellicola documentaristica “The eternal children” di David Kleijwegt) e include un brano “Fuer Hildegard Von Bingen”( un ritratto surreale della santa cattolica del 12° secolo, compositrice, scrittrice che scappa da un monastero e decide di diventare una VJ e spargere la sua parola). Un evento imperdibile per apprezzare un brillante artista contemporaneo.

The legendary synth-pop band Depeche Mode, headed by the charming Dave Gahan, returns after an absence which lasted four years, recently releasing the single track “Heaven”(Columbia Records), included in the new album “Delta Machine”(which will be released on 22nd March 2013, of whose graphics and photography featuring in a book included in the deluxe edition of album were curated by the celebrated photography Anton Corbjin).

The fashion show ended with the suggestive track “Love will tear us apart” by Joy Division I love very much.
Later I enjoyed an Epicurean interlude at the enchanting Hotel Locarno’s bar along with the bright fashion designer Angelos Bratis, the eclectic journalist, author, curator and professor Cesare Cunaccia and the Turin native actress Elena Radonicich who is the testimonial of the bright fashion designer during tomorrow’s exhibition Limited/Unlimited which will be held at Hadrian’s Temple.

Then I started to visit the event A.I. gallery, a series of exhibitions joining art and fashion that were held in many art galleries as the Emmeotto gallery at the suggestive Palazzo Taverna that showcased the creations of Giuseppe Paolillo, Barbara Matera, Simone Rainer, Claudio Rivetti and Altalen and Il Ponte art gallery where the Amsterdam textile expert Conny Groenewegen exhibited the works she made.

Then I moved to the O Gallery to attend at the book signing of “Decades” by Cameron Silver.

And after the book-signing I attended at the fashion show which presented the Fall/Winter 2013-2014 collection by the smashing fashion designer Stella Jean interpreting in a fun way African, American and Indian suggestions under the sign of color, femininity and personality, emphasized by catchy accessories as jewels, scarves and hats.

Altaroma ha avuto quale protagonista una felice combinazione di arte, moda e cultura all’ insegna di creativi emergenti e contemporaneità. È iniziata con la sfilata di Suzanne Susceptible, vincitrice del premio Yoox award nell’ ultima edizione del concorso di talent-scouting WION, ispirata da Chagall che unisce una accattivante ricerca di tessuti e un simpatico gioco di volumi.

Successivamente ho apprezzato un interludio epicureo all’ incantevole bar dell’ Hotel Locarno unitamente al brillante fashion designer Angelos Bratis, l’ eclettico giornalista, scrittore, curatore e docente Cesare Cunaccia e l’ attrice natia di Torino Elena Radonicich, la testimonial del brillante fashion designer in occasione della mostra di domani Limited/Unlimited che si terrà presso il Tempio di Adriano.

Successivamente ho iniziato a visitare l’ evento A.I. gallery, una serie di mostre che univano arte e moda che si sono tenute in varie gallerie d’ arte series quali la galleria Emmeotto presso il suggestivo Palazzo Taverna che ha esposto le creazioni di Giuseppe Paolillo, Barbara Matera, Simone Rainer, Claudio Rivetti ed Altalen e Il Ponte art gallery in cui l’ esperta di tessuti proveniente da Amsterdam Conny Groenewegen ha esposto le opere da lei realizzate.

E dopo la book-signing ho partecipato alla sfilata che presentava la collezione autunno/inverno 2013/2014 della formidabile fashion designer Stella Jean che interpreta in modo divertente suggestioni africane, americane e indiane all’ insegna di colore, femminilità e personalità, enfatizzate da accattivanti accessori quali gioielli, foulard e cappelli.

“Io speriamo che me la chiavo”(Edizioni 8144), unequivocal title – standing as “I wish I shag her” – of book curated by Paolo Baron which reminds me the track “The ballad of Chasey Lain” of Bloodhound Gang, having it also very clear lyrics and concerning the same theme or rather the letter to a porn star(Chasey Lain) from a fan. This book makes more and collects a wide series of letters, coming from the archives of Rabbit video – the most important film company which produces hard videos in Italy -, letters written by fans who were lustful to feature in the casting of porn movies and prove of having those qualities and skills that made famous personas as John Holmes and Rocco Siffredi. A fun volume under the sign of hilarious blunders and deliriums regarding the amatory abilities which depicts a part of people who contributed for years to make blooming the world of porn.
UN ILARE LIBRO: “IO SPERIAMO CHE ME LA CHIAVO”, I FAN SCRIVONO ALLE PORNOSTAR
“Io speriamo che me la chiavo”(Edizioni 8144), titolo inequivocabile del libro curato da Paolo Baron che mi ricorda la canzone “The ballad of Chasey Lain” dei Bloodhound Gang, anch’ essa dai testi molto espliciti e afferente il medesimo tema ovvero la lettera di un fan a una pornostar ( Chasey Lain) . Questo libro fa di più e ne raccoglie una ampia serie, provenienti dagli archivi della Rabbit video – la più importante casa di produzione di video hard in Italia -, lettere scritte da fans desiderosi di accedere ai casting del porno e dimostrare al mondo di avere quelle qualità e capacità che hanno reso famosi personaggi quali John Holmes e Rocco Siffredi. Un divertente volume all’ insegna esilaranti strafalcioni e deliri sulle proprie capacità amatorie che dipinge quella fetta di popolazione che per anni ha contribuito a rendere florido il mondo del porno.

I am delighted by the ideas of genius, eclectic artist David Byrne, appeared days ago in his Journal, concerning Wagner – composer I love, become the leitmotiv of this year, Wagnerian year - and a celebrated documentary he watched, “Wagner and me”, film featuring the British actor Stephen Fry, Wagner’s lover, successful chance to consider a visionary composer, beyond the critics that involved him during the last centuries and to focus on a concept: “Wagner’s anti-Semitism is not inherent in his work. Though his operas evoke a sense of the deep roots of Teutonic culture and therefore encourage a pride of that culture, it isn’t exclusionary. Similarly Fry concludes that Wagner’s work should be judged solely on its merits, and he suggests we view and hear it independently from his personal views”.

Sono deliziata dalle idee del geniale, eclettico artista David Byrne, apparse giorni fa nel suo Journal che riguardano Wagner – compositore che amo, divenuto il leitmotiv dell’ anno, anno wagneriano – e un celebre documentario da lui visto, “Wagner and me”, pellicola con l’ attore inglese Stephen Fry, amante di Wagner, felice occasione per considerare un visionario compositore al di là delle critiche a lui mosse durante i secoli passati e soffermarsi su una idea: “l’ antisemitismo di Wagner non è intrinseco alla sua opera. Anche se le sue opere evocano una idea che affonda profonde radici nella cultura teutonica e ne incoraggiano l’ orgoglio di quella cultura, codesta non è esclusoria. Allo stesso modo Fry giunge ad affermare che l’ opera di Wagner dovrebbe essere valutata unicamente in base ai suoi meriti e suggerisce di osservarla ed ascoltarla, prescindendo dalle personali opinioni del compositore”.
It successfully opens the new year the smashing series of events “Bed time stories”, ideated by the interior designer David Carter – son of celebrated author Angela Carter – which will be held on 24th January 2013 in London at 40 Winks (from 8:03 to 10:45 pm), renowned boutique hotel he owns. Here it will feature in the evening a tale about sex in eighteenth century London, told by the famous British author of biographies – about Casanova, Beau Brummell and most recently Samuel Foote - and actor Ian Kelly, deep knower of the rakes, roués and revolutionaries who peopled London in the age of Enlightment. The event will be followed by the music performed by bright artists as Tricity Vogue, Chris Singleton, Tracey Mathewson, Anna Helena McLean, The Tiger’s Bride and Oli Deakin along with cocktails and appetizers. An unusual way to spend the evening in London under the sign of literature, sensuality and fun, a not to be missed happening for who thinks – like Nagiko, the character featuring in “Pillow book”, cult-movie by Peter Greenaway - there are two big delights in life, the delights arising from sex and the ones arising from literature.

Inaugura felicemente il nuovo anno la formidabile serie di eventi “Bed time stories”, ideata dall’ interior designer David Carter – figlio della celebre scrittrice Angela Carter – che si terrà il 24 gennaio 2013 a Londra presso 40 Winks (dalle 20:03 alle ore 22:45), rinomato boutique hotel di sua proprietà. Ivi sarà protagonista della serata un racconto sul sesso nella Londra del diciottesimo secolo, narrato dal famoso autore inglese di biografie – su Casanova, Beau Brummell e più recentemente Samuel Foote - e attore Ian Kelly, profondo conoscitore dei libertini, dissoluti e rivoluzionari che hanno popolato Londra all’ epoca dell’ Illuminismo. L’ evento sarà accompagnato dalle musiche di brillanti artisti quali Tricity Vogue, Chris Singleton, Tracey Mathewson, Anna Helena McLean, The Tiger’s Bride ed Oli Deakin unitamente a cocktail e appetizers. Un insolito modo di passare la serata a Londra all’ insegna di letteratura, sensualità e divertimento, evento imperdibile per chi ritiene – come Nagiko, il personaggio protagonista di “I racconti del cuscino”, cult-movie di Peter Greenaway - che esistano due grandi piaceri nella vita, quelli della carne e quelli della letteratura.
