Tsitsi Cickhvaia

A suggestive solo exhibition of the artist and designer Tsitsi Cickhvaia has recently hosted in the rooms of Tiblisi Rustaveli Theatre, smashing building – that yesterday welcomed many Georgian artists as the avant-garde painter Davit’ Kakabadze and other ones who escaped during the age of Russian revolution of whose works were destroyed, but fortunately a small portion of frescos, I was pleased of enjoying, survived – where it was held the latest edition of Georgian Fashion Week. Here it was showcased the works – paintings, sketches and dresses -, embodying the tradition and suggestions coming from the past, successfully reinterpreted by the artist on canvas, paper, wool and silk.

Una suggestiva personale dell’artista e designer Tsitsi Cickhvaia é stata recentemente ospitata nelle stanze del Teatro Rustaveli di Tbilisi, formidabile edificio – che ha accolto ieri plurimi artisti quali il pittore d’avanguardia Davit’ Kakabadze ed altri che sono fuggiti durante l’epoca della rivoluzione russa i cui lavori sono andati distrutti, ma fortunatamente una piccola parte degli affreschi che ho avuto il piacere di apprezzare é rimasta intatta – in cui si è tenuta l’ultima edizione della Georgian Fashion Week. Ivi sono state esposte opere – dipinti, disegni e abiti – che incorporano la tradizione e suggestioni provenienti dal passato, felicemente reinterpretate dall’artista su tela, carta, lana e seta.
