Stephen Jones & The Accent of Fashion

The legendary British hat designer Stephen Jones – who I was pleased years ago of interviewing with him, during the opening of the smashing exhibition “Hat, an Anthology” he curated which was held at the London Victoria and Albert Museum, later featured in the Museum’s permanent collection – will be on 13th October 2010 in London at Dover Street Market to sign the book “Stephen Jones and the accent of fashion” by Hamish Bowles, Andrew Bolton, Suzy Menkes, Penny Martin and Anna Piaggi (ACC Editions, 75,00 $), documenting the exhibition which will be held in Anwerp at the Momu Fashion Museum until 13th February 2011, celebrating the 30th anniversary of brand Stephen Jones Millinery, featuring more than 120 items along with the collaborations with many designers of international fashion scene for three decades – as Dior, John Galliano, Comme des Garçons, Thierry Mugler, Claude Montana, Azzedine Alaïa, Walter Van Beirendonck, Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Giles and many more -, looking closely at his work in film, music and photography, talking about  the early years in the London of the New Romantics, the relationship with the iconic Anna Piaggi, his design process and the sources of inspiration behind his creations. A precious fetish and a not to be missed chance to enjoy the magnificent suggestions of a bright, visionary creative who successfully overlapped tradition and innovation.
