FASHION & ARCHITECTURE: THE FLORAL DRESS OF ANOUK VOGEL AND MATTIJS VAN BERGER

The Dutch landscape architect Anouk Vogel and fashion designer Mattijs van Bergen teamed to create an unusual dress the floral dress successfully joining fashion and architecture. The dress – showcased until 11^th September 2010 during the exhibition “Fashion and Architecture” which is held at the ARCAM(Amsterdam Centre for Architecture) - made of wool and cleverly devised from recycled bicycle inner tubes and tubes of whose outer surface is the result of myriad of individual vases that can be filled of water. The type of flowers along with the way they are positioned changes completely the appearance of dress, making it a living object that brought each season to life by the changing floral arrangements.

L’architetto del paesaggio olandese Anouk Vogel ed il designer olandese Mattijs van Bergen hanno collaborato per creare un insolito abito floreale che felicemente unisce moda e architettura. L’abito – esposto fino all’ 11 settembre 2010 in occasione della mostra “Fashion and Architecture” che si tiene presso l’ ARCAM( Centro di Amsterdam per l’ Architettura) – è realizzato in lana e sapientemente composto da tubi riciclati di bicicletta la cui parte esterna è il risultato di una miriade di singoli vasi che possono essere riempiti d’ acqua. Il tipo di fiori unitamente al modo in cui sono posizionati cambia completamente l’aspetto dell’abito, rendendolo un oggetto vivente che ogni stagione si rinnova mediante il cambiamento delle composizioni floreali.
